5 boxes + Lab Kit — Chemistry, Physics & STEM (ages 8+)

• Starter Kit (reusable glassware) — This kit will become your own home lab to conduct experiments from our chemistry sets and even more!
• Chemistry. Elements – What exactly is a chemical element, and how is it different from a chemical substance? Grow iodine crystals straight out of vapor, watch sulfur powder melt into a liquid and then turn solid again, and discover carbon in forms from charcoal to graphite to diamond. Learn about allotropy and how the same element can form very different molecules.
• STEM. Projector Optics – Explore the fascinating world of light and optics! Build your own projector and learn how light travels, how lenses work, and how you can manipulate light to create your own images.
• Chemistry. Colorful Chemistry – Dive into pH indicators and how changing conditions changes their colors. Experiment with milk and dyes and create a color-changing liquid.
• Physics. Lenses – Light beams seem impossible to see or catch, but lenses can bend them to your will. Reveal and steer a laser beam, build a spherical microscope, and use a special lens card to make a small object seemingly disappear.
• Chemistry. Tin – Discover how beautiful tin can be! Use electricity to grow a branching tin dendrite, and turn a zinc pellet into a spiky tin "hedgehog" through a metal displacement reaction. Learn about electrolysis and how pure metals can be obtained from solutions.
